With Christmas around the corner and the inevitable gift shopping going along with the festive season, I thought I would help you craft your list by telling you about a hot new brand launched very recently by a very dear friend: Lahara Accessories.
What is Lahara? It’s a bag and small leather accessories brand, made of an oh so gorgeous collection of handbags, laptop bags, totes, card holders and jewellery.
Lahara was born in less than a year, arising from my friend’s Laura’s very creative mind.
Laura loves her accessories (she would maybe add here that I love them even more 😉) and has an impeccable sense of style!
Out of secondary school she first went the more traditional, “reasonable” route majoring in business administration (with a minor in entrepreneurship though) but never gave up her dream of launching her very own creative company. Fast forward until last year when she finally dared to jump into the unknown (And I was lucky enough to be right there to witness this amazing leap of faith 🙂)! Very stylish, somewhat exclusive and most importantly ethical: lahara was born. And I’m so proud of her!!
What does “Lahara” mean? It’s simply the contraction of Laura’s first name and two last names. An “homage” to her French and German roots, as well as to her family heritage.
The brand’s first collection could be defined in four words: aesthetics, finesse and traditional craftsmanship. The collection is entirely made of full grain dyed vegetable leather from one of Tuscany’s oldest vegetable leather tanneries. All interiors are made of a natural cotton linen fabric also from Italy. The bags signature circle lock is custom made in high quality brass by an artisan in northern Italy (isn’t it ravishing by the way?!).
Do you like colors? Are you more pastels or vibrant hues? Tote or cross-shoulder bags? I’m sure you’ll find your happiness scrolling through Lahara’s online shop! My personal favs: the Mita marina bag, the Sorrento card holder marine (I might have a thing with marine aka navy blue…) and the “Oh sole mio” earrings either in burgundy or…marine! And what about the Sorrento clutch in nero? I could literally buy every single item sold by Laura!! They’re all so gorgeous and timeless.
All the items can be paired with any outfit and worn from 9 to 5 (whenever I use this expression it always make me thing of Dolly Parton’s song…), throughout the year, for an elegant yet casual look.
Tempted but not sure yet. To feel the material, smell the leather and try all the different designs on, come to one of the many Christmas markets in the Lausanne/Geneva region! Or even better, join me to the brand’s launch party on December 15th in Lausanne (Switzerland)!
And speaking of Christmas markets, if you fancy a more traditional version, don’t forget the Weihnachtsmärit in Morat. One of the cuttest I’ve seen!
See you there, and don’t forget to share/like/comment this post 🙂 !
